Can’t Wait
By Kate Klim
©2011
Maybe you missed your train
Maybe you can blame it on the traffic or the rain
Maybe you just woke up late
But I can’t wait, I can’t wait this time
Maybe when the pressure’s on you choke
Maybe you’re scared that we will end up like your folks
Maybe you will fix the parts you broke, but I don’t know
So I can’t wait, I can’t wait
It’s got nothing to do with trying, it’s got nothing to do with fate
It’s just investments and returns and the lesson I have learned
Is that its’ not your time to take, so I can’t wait
Maybe there’s an answer round the bend
Maybe one day our two paths will cross again
Maybe you will make good in the end, but until then I just can’t wait
It’s got nothing to do with wanting, it’s got nothing to do with faith
It is not written in the stars, and what makes it so damn hard is we were great
But I can’t… I can’t
Maybe your alarm clock didn’t sound
Maybe you missed your turn or just got turned around
But my plane is leaving now,
And I can’t wait, I can’t wait this time.
