Kamikaze Love
By Kate Klim
The truth is a weapon and lying’s an art
Love is a battle and you’ve got a purple heart
This is a long shot, and you are a big mistake
But you smile like you mean it and I laugh till it hurts
I will roll with the punches and deal with the dirt
I get a pound of music for an ounce of heartache
And this is a Kamikaze Love for my suicidal heart
Oh and I can’t seem to fight it fight it
This may never be much more than a flicker in the dark
Oh but look at how we light it, light it up
So aim for my soft spots and swing ‘til you miss
No I don’t mind the danger that comes with a kiss
Oh but nobody told me that it would feel like this, like this, like this
Is a Kamikaze Love for my suicidal heart
Oh and I can’t seem to fight it fight it
This may never be much more than a flicker in the dark
Oh but look at how we light it, light it up
And everyone’s saying that I should know better
Haven’t I listened, haven’t I learned
But I can’t help thinking there’s something poetic
About watching it crash, about watching it burn…
In a Kamikaze Love for my suicidal heart
Oh and I can’t seem to fight it fight it
This may never be much more than a flicker in the dark
Oh but look at how we light it, light it up
